what there is to know about the golf etiquette and the rules of golf.

also written out in Dutchook in het Nederlands…>>..

Most golf etiquette are traditions you should know.

In basis Golf is a very simple sport. A ball, a hole and a wooden stick; the ball has to go into the hole after hiding it with the stick. And than come along all the rules, traditions and the golf etiquette. Together with your mental game this simple sport becomes suddenly very difficult. So you better know the rules and etiquettes. You can read them here.

Did I miss one. Let me know….. 😉

Mail me your questions, suggestion and ideas.

prepair your pitchmark on the green, when you created one.
You have to repair the pitchmark that the ball has created with your pitch fork, that you ALWAYS carry with you.

don't play an endless amoutn of provisionalsYou played a provisional ball because you wanted to avoid walking back to the tee, in case you couldn’t find your ball. With this ball happened (almost) the same thing. The only thing to do correctly is to play another provisional ball. If you can’t find the other balls you continue your game with this second provisional ball. The next shot is going to be your sixth shot.

As additional information you can read the article written by Linda Miller (Rules of Golf Consultant for Ramblewood Country Club)

‘Preferred lies’ is the term that means that you as a golf player are allowed to improve your lie without penalty on certain parts of a golf course. It’s a local rule only and is also known as ‘winter rules’. Read an hole page of information about when the preferred lies rule is used and what you have to do, and what you shouldn’t forget.

Because the question is; were it comes from, I did some research and found some answers in an e-book published by the Dutch Golf Federation (NGF).
Click this link to read my extensive, personal answer, which is based on texts of this e-book.

Rules of Conduct also known as etiquette. A many heard terminology in Golf. They are provided by the clubs, who find their inspiration in the rules written out by ‘The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews’. By using the e-book of the Dutch Golf Federation I made a nice summery of etiquette rules on this website.

Do you also have a question that you like to have answered or worked out. Send it to me by mail or write it down below via your Facebook account.

A like or share is of course also more than welcome.

Thx
