Stop for a moment on the bridge over the Binnendieze, so I can proudly point out that the gatehouse has a personal meaning to me.
The left part was renovated on the inside by my father when it was decided to turn the former HAS club and a boxing gym into the meeting room of the Oeteldonkse Club. He then volunteered to be its caretaker for many years. So the term ‘I am going to the ‘Zusters van Orthenpoort’ was very regularly used ‘at our home’, as we say with a Bosch dialect.
In addition, the Oeteldonks Gemintemuzejum was established in the right part. Gemintemuzejum is carnaval dialect for; municipal museum. And because my mother was a court dressmaker for the Oeteldonkse Club for 12 years, many family memories can be found there too. If you want to know everything about the Carnaval in Oeteldonk, then it is also recommended to visit this museum.
When you’re ready, continue across the bridge and through the gatehouse.
