Turn left here into Peperstraat.
You now have a view of the St. John’s. On your way to the entrance, I will tell you about what you see when you go inside, as you are not allowed to use your phone inside the church.
The copper baptismal font from 1492 is certainly worth mentioning. It weighs no less than 350 kilos. The large three-part decorative screen behind the altar from the 16th century is also impressive. It is carved from wood and depicts the Passion of Christ.
The renaissance organ was converted and is one of the most beautiful in the world and is straight away above you when you enter the church.
The chapel where our Sweet Lady of Den Bosch can be found dates from 1270. It is a grace statue of the Blessed Virgin Mary, which is part of a series of statues that form a pilgrimage in the Netherlands. The oak statue represents Mary with baby Christ on her left arm and has been venerated here, at least since 1380. The fact that the statue is not so beautiful is precisely the reason that it is revered.
Keep going straight.
