“Den Bosch officially is ‘s-Hertogenbosch, which actually means Forest of the Duke”

The official name of Den Bosch is ‘s-Hertogenbosch, which actually means Forest of the Duke. The next alleyway is called Ridderstraat, which means you will walk into the Street of the Knight. I often used these lines to explain the name of the town. More about that later.

On the left you see a trapdoor. It can be opened by maintenance personnel or in an emergency during canal cruises. Keep on walking.
